As every graphic designer works differently, here’s just a little summary of how I work and what you can expect along the way…

Payment Schedule

A non-refundable booking retainer is required to book your project and commence work. The balance of your quoted fee will be payable to release final print-ready files, or before any printed products are ordered. If additional charges are incurred (see ‘Inclusions & Additional Charges’), these will be added to your final invoice and will be payable to release final print-ready files.

Project Timeline

A project timeline will be detailed along with your quotation. The timeline will be based on the information provided by the client at the time. For projects that extend longer than outlined in the timeline due to delays from the client, a final invoice will be issued within 7 working days of the lastest correspondence, and payment for the work done to date will be required.

Inclusions & Additional Charges

Unless otherwise stated in your quotation, your fee includes one round of amendments. Amendments refer to minor changes to the work originally requested. Additional amendments (ie. more than the one round included) requested will incur additional charges. Design requests made in addition to, or outside or, the original brief will incur additional charges.

Cancellations

If you decide to cancel your project, your booking retainer is non-refundable and will cover the work done to date.

Approving Your Artwork

By giving your artwork approval, you are accepting all responsibility for accuracy. I will hold no responsibility for errors of any kind after your approval has been received, so be sure to proofread carefully.

Upon receiving your approval in writing, I’ll move forward with preparing your print-ready files and competing your design project. If changes are requested after your approval has been received, an additional fee will be incurred for the extra time needed to create your print-ready files all over again.

Deliverables

Your project will be delivered in the form of a print-ready PDF, JPEG or PNG depending on the project. To maintain my copyrighted work and the integrity of my designs, my editable, working files will not be provided or delivered.
If my editable, working files (like layered Indesign, Illustrator, or Photoshop files) are requested, then an additional fee will be payable for these additional assets.

Image Search Fees

Should your project require stock photos, the fee for these will be detailed on your quotation. The fee will be an ‘Image Search Fee’ and cover the time taken to search for appropriate images. The fee will not imply ownership of the image or ownership of the copyright of the image. Various stock photos have various licencing agreements, and I will be adhering to the licencing agreement applicable to the stock photos used in your project.

Font Usage Fees

Should your project require custom fonts, the fee for these will be detailed on your quotation. The fee will be an ‘Font Usage Fee’ and cover the time taken to search for the appropriate font and any costs incurred for me to use the font in your project. The fee will not imply ownership of the font or cover the licence for you to use the font. Various fonts have various licencing agreements, and I will be adhering to the licencing agreement applicable to the fonts used in your project. If you intend to use the font on your computer, you will also need to buy another user licence for the font at your expense.

Retention of Files

The files for your project will be saved for 12months from the completion of your project. Clients are advised to save any files provided to them in 3 separate places - 1. on your main computer hard drive, 2. on a separate removeable hard drive or portable drive, 3. on an offsite storage platform like Dropbox or Google Drive.

Validity of Proposed Fees

Your proposal is valid for 60 days from when it is dated. Should you wish to proceed with a project outside of this timeline, please get in touch for my undated fees and availability.
