Using Your New Personal Branding Photos
So, you’ve invested in your business with a personal branding photoshoot and now you have a library of content at your fingertips. Now what?
The best thing to do for your business is to start using your photos and put them towork for you. Here’s a few first steps to get you started….
Update Your Profile Pictures
Pick one of your photos, I recommend a professional headshot looking straight at the camera, and give your online profile a refresh. This goes for all your social media profiles: Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and any other accounts you hold (like a blog). This is also a good chance to check and update your bio and other details, like your email signature, and check everything is up to date and in line with your branding.
Add Your Brand Photos to Your Website
Go through each page on your website and add photos that reflect what’s relevant on that page. Most people just update the photo on the ‘About Me’ page, but now that you have a large consistent library of custom content, swap out the overused stock photos and sprinkle your new brand photos through your entire site. You could even have a page dedicated to your gallery so people can get a snapshot of the work you do and what engaging your services will add to them.
Rename Your Brand Photos!
Small things like this can often be overlooked but are powerful little additions for SEO and helping people find you online. Rename your images using keywords relevant to your business or industry, words that potential customers could be searching for. (eg. ‘Macrame-Workshops-In-Sydney-1.jpg)
Update or Create Marketing Materials
One great difference about the custom photos you receive after your personal branding session is that they are of professional quality, which in turn tells your audience that you are a professional business. Using these images on any marketing materials you have (like flyers, brochures, media kit, business cards etc.) will elevate your brand and enhance your profile, making you the ‘expert’. This is a great way to build trust and authority in your field.
Plan Out Your Content to Upload Onto Social Media
Now that you’ve got a library of content, let’s make sure you’re engaging regularly with your audience. Schedule it out as often as you’re comfortable so that you’re top of mind. There are lots of calendars and apps that can help you do an overview of the coming week or month, allowing you to ensure the content you offer your audience is varied and relevant.
One thing is for certain - don’t let your new personal branding photos sit unpublished! You’ve made a great choice by investing in your brand, now it’s time to get a return on your investment.
